New members thread (there are too many of these, whoops)

Post by String Bean Jean »

I'm new and thought a new members thread would be good to have, to let new people introduce themselves. oh and I'm Tom and new. This is a bit risky, my first post being one where it's also a new topic and so far very self centred *gulps*

Ah, finally. My replacement has arrived, and my long shift is over.

(I wanna get that on my grave-stone)

Goodnight!

thanks, I decided that as I'm shit at making user names, I just put my i-tunes on shuffle on belle and Sebastian songs.

how come there are so few registered users for this?

and, I've only got one Ooberman album (I intend to get more, when I somehow, feel that I have enough money), "Hey Petrunko", what should be the next to get?

Waiting For The Sonic Boom. not Ooberman per se, but definitely worth buying.
honey pie, i don't know when it started, just stop buying your albums from the supermarket. They only sell records that have charted.

what is Ooberon exactly, is it two members (Andy and Steve Flett)? If so I'll just make the assumption that it's great. Which one should I get first?(I might even be able to get my dad to get it on I-tunes, as he seems to like them :D , some-days parents embarrass us, not when they say cool shit like that though)

Ooberon is Andy and Steve - but get the Magic Treehouse first, it's where it all began!

Magic Treehouse
Running Girl
Carried Away
Waiting for the Sonic Boom

...for a start, in that order...

...from my point of view. :)

yeah, i do think TMT is a better place to continue your ooberjourney really. i sometimes forget how many good songs there are on there because of some of the... less good bits. that's the thing about Ooberman - when they're good they're great, but when they're bad they're pretty fucking abysmal.

I can't actually think of any bad Ooberman songs. There is one on TMT that I tend to skip, but that's all.

Roro Blue and Bong are the ones that come to mind immediately, but there is a horrible horrible b-side that i can't remember the name of right now.

Roro Blue's the one I skip! It's strange cos I used to like it when I first got the album, but I kinda went off it.

And you don't like Bong?!! You strange individual! :P

I tend to agree with Chantal. I have my faves but there are none I really dislike...

Out of interest, which one do you tend to skip Chantal?

I was going to bring up the fact that I've not seen the 'Tube be so busy for ages.

Maybe its anticipation of the Lost Tapes...

...or maybe String Bean Jean and breathed new life into the place? :D

I'm surprised Ash hasn't chimed in...

I think lost tapes, even I the newbie, am waiting for it to come out (so I can hear reviews and get my friend to buy it, send me some tracks, to keep me busy until I get it)
