thing about first day is that it has some drawbacks that stop me being totally happy... it's not the best melody, doesn't really have a hook or chorus, it's over-compressed with this Roland VS1680 multiband compression which has a lightly jarrig, edgy falseness, and also I had a hell of a time with ...

RARITIES APPEAL

Anyone got obscure Ooberman stuff that we might have lost, for the new rarities album?

For example, Loveshit Richochet and Of Identity, or well recorded live bootlegs? Write to ooberinfo@ooberman.net if you have something of interest.

Thanks

Hmm.. yes there is a lot of material. Some thoughts: TWO ALBUMS? Maybe rather than a double album it should be two albums - a b sides album and a rarities album released together, though the quality would be pretty ropey on the rarities one sorry - authentic chewed tape effects, recordings abondoned...

Ah, very good so that's how Buddhism escapes such basic logical traps. It's just a means to an end. Have you read Herman Hesse's Siddhartha? As for the meaning of life, my own feeling as that there's plenty of meaning in life, in terms of valuable things to do and experience, if you're lucky enough ...

>>retro... maybe people clinging to buddhism is yet another bond that needs to be broken. but then you don't need to break bonds any more, because you're not a buddhist. so then you CAN get back into buddhism. but if you do you must break your bond with it. this pendulum of indecision (@ 1 change of...

Ooberman's Enron-like Finances

Early reports indicate 2500 sold so far worldwide with an expectation of 3000 in the end. In total we sold about 4000 of Hey Petrunko, so that's 1000 less than last time. On the other hand then we spent around £20,000 to do so, whereas this time it was only £5,000. And therefore, where last time we ...

well ok i exaggerate, if it was that bad we'd never do anything... i'm kind of condensing 20 years of trouble into a paragraph... in fact we all do have a lot respect for eachother and the music, and we only argue some of the time... we are good friends and we do have good work patterns a lot of the...

Thanks for reading that stuff. I think if I had to put my money on it I'd say that time doesn't flow - I really believe that. And so yes, in a sense dead people are 'really' alive. Although in another sense, from our persepctive, in our time frame, they are dead. And you can't reach them anyway, so ...

hey ash, you might be interested in these weighty tomes of mine from 2003: http://www.ooberman.net/Two_Essays.zip It's two essays about Time. I'm trying to prove that time doesn't flow, which kind of builds on the fatalistic, deterministic instincts you express above. 'Why do we believe that time fl...

hello.. a bit burnt out here from all the nerves of doing the acoustic thing last night. thanks for your input, Ash's suggestion that we highlight Sophia's voice definitely contributed to digging out Too Many Memories. Btw it's NOT the same song as The Things I Have Lost - because MCA/Universal Publ...

I think Shorley Wall needs to be done to remind those stragglers who vaguely remember us. The main point of these sessions is to reach new people, so sadly we can't aim it at the loyal followers who've heard every session.

Radcliffe: Any Requests

Hi folks, We're doing an acoustic set on Mark Radcliffe on Tues 26th Sept. There'll be a lot of people listening who haven't heard us before, so what songs do you think would make a good introduction to us and advert for the new album? A mix of old and new would be good. We're interested to hear you...

Hello You Lot

Hi there, Dan Pop of former Dan Pop fame here, how are you all? Good I hope. Good to see some of the old crowd. What are you all up to? I nearly went off and did a PhD in philosophy then decided I liked music too much and spent some time making some orchestral tracks for movie trailers with Soph sin...
