Anyone here into The Dawn Parade? Absolutely stunning band with a bit of a fractured history, who split once, then returned with a new lineup (but same lead singer/songwriter) and have now changed their name to The Visions. check out www.thevisions.co.uk, bot three new tracks including the excellent...

'fraid not. big music fan I may be, but play anything, write songs, or sing I cannot.

They are genuinely just friends of a friend. Seriously though, ignore them and be sorry in a few month's time.

Yeah, the website is their one weakness in my eyes. They need to get some MP3's up on a site that looks the part... but hey, last night was one of the best gigs I've seen. Out of 6 bands playing, the huge majority of the crowd were there to see Genius, I felt pretty sorry for the other bands really!...

www.thegeniusband.com Check out these guys. There are no MP3s on their site, but you can order thir 7 track demo, and you’re gonna wanna do that! Think Jellyfish, Ooberman, Queen, the Beach Boys… all rolled into one. Their track ‘Your Majesty’ is an epic track that rivals Bohemian Rhapsody in the wa...

Man, James, you always get high and mighty when I post, and it doesn't happen very often! I'm only spouting what comes into my head. They were not assumptions, they were speculations; very different.

interesting whatever it is... but it could be anyone putting together a load of rare tracks, and to qualify to say 2005, all they'd have to do is remix something... Chances are we'll have all the tracks anyway, unless they are real lost recordings. If it IS Danny, it's a way to get a few quid withou...

What's the new boand going to be called ? Will they keep the ooberman name ? Which member ? Everyone except Sofia ? They haven't confirmed the name yet, but 'Oxbow Lake' has been the working band title for a while. It will really just be the Flett brother's. Danny leaving was what split up Ooberman...

Well Freddie, I agree about Souljacker; it was a let down, though Eels bad material is still better than a lot of bands supposed good stuff... I was dissapointed with Shootenanny as first too, but I've rediscovered it recently; it's really a great album, seriously, it's subtle, but great. Keep with ...

Maybe... I reckon the beard came out when he released darker material... and this album sounds pretty meaty from that point of view. There's an article on the website that says he's been recoring Blinking Lights for the past five years or so! And Shootenanny was recorded in 10 days from a need to re...

Yup, look at www.eelstheband.com
BLINKING LIGHTS AND OTHER REVELATIONS, comes out April 26th and has 33 new tracks accross 2 CDs! Pretty generous I'd say... either that or they will all be shit and very short... but E has never let us down before...

Yeah, he was well up for talking to people afterwards. He used to front a band called Booley, and then it changed to Benzine Headset... then he went solo with Duke Special. I asked him why he kept changing names, cos he's bound to lose fans through it. But he said this is def his final moniker now, ...

DUKE SPECIAL

I went to a gig by this guy last night, and it was very possibly the best live show I've ever seen. He was on vocals and keys, he had a guitarist for some songs, and a percussion/drummer guy, who hit eveything from normals drums and cymbals, to cheese graters, wash boards and array of other interest...
